Retailers prepare for their Black Friday sales to kick off the Christmas shopping season, taking place next Friday. A variety of shops will cut their prices, usually for the Friday only, but often for the whole weekend.
Zara is among the high street fashion brands who are expected to drop their prices for the event, with ‘Blacker Friday’ predicting offers of up to 30% discount, as done in previous years, both in-store and online.
In previous years, fashionista favourite ASOS offered 20% discount on ALL items on site, including products already discounted, an ideal place to grab the latest trends without having to brave busy shopping centres. Fashion lovers believe it will be THE place to bag a designer bargain, with ASOS stocking big brand names too, such as Calvin Klein or Steve Madden.
The Black Friday bargains don’t just apply to fashion and beauty brands. John Lewis, Argos and Currys PC World are amongst the many other shops who will also be cutting their prices of technology, toys and much more.
Mobile phone retailer, EE is predicted by experts to offer perhaps one of the better Black Friday deals, giving either a free TV or Nintendo Switch when buying selected new phone contracts.
Black Friday began in the USA with it coming to the UK in around 2010. As the American holiday, Thanksgiving falls on the fourth Thursday of November, the Friday after is often treated as an unofficial holiday. Shops would drop their prices, knowing many people are off work, to begin the festive season.
